This will be the third year to celebrate Memorial Day at Englewood High School. It will be held on Sunday May 28, 2017. The high school is located at 3800 South Logan Street, Englewood CO 80113.
The ceremony is FREE and open to the public. Veterans are encouraged to wear their uniforms and/or ribbons.
This celebration is for all veterans not just for Englewood Veterans!.
The first year WWII veterans were honored and the second year Korean veterans were honored. This year there will be a well deserved tribute to all our Vietnam veterans. It is time to “set the record straight and say “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans”!
The Pre Ceremony begins at 1:30PM and will feature:

The Douglas County Young Marines

Pictures and brief biography of KIA veterans
Veterans pavers near the monument stone
The Main program begins at 2:00PM and ends at 4:00 in the luxurious Fisher Auditorium and will feature:
The Joe Peterson Orchestra and the Andrew Singers
The Douglas County Young Marines with Commander Jeff Cooper
The “Missing Man Ceremony” performed by Rolling Thunder
The Post ceremony will take place at 4:00 PM outside and feature:
The Honor Bell Foundation
A live bugler playing Taps
A rifle salute
A presentation of the American flag to a Gold Star Family
The monument at at Englewood High School is a three-ton Colorado Rose Granite stone from our own Colorado quarry in Lions Colorado. The five bronze service seals; Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard are on the face of the stone. The stone is surrounded by pavers with the names of veterans and those who honor them.
