Eric Chan, Chief Secretary for Administration announced at an Olympic flag-presenting ceremony for local competitors that cash incentives will increase by 20% to enable gold medalists to potentially receive up to HK$6 Million as prize money. This will provide extra encouragement for our athletes as they aim for excellence at this summer’s Olympic Games in Paris.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has introduced an incentive for trainers, with the top trainer taking home part of a HK$250,000 prize fund at Happy Valley’s Longines International Jockeys’ Championship in December if he or she finishes highest among trainers in their division. This bonus incentive adds to existing rewards given for horses’ performances across races run at Happy Valley by HKJC.

The 2023 Hang Lung Mathematics Awards (HLMA) has recently been launched, with Kyan Cheung Ka-Hin and Ethan Soh Jon-Yi from Harrow International School Hong Kong being recognized with gold for their research report on the RL Fractional Integral. Other prize recipients were MOK Chun-Hei and WONG Hei from S.K.H Tsang Shiu Tim Secondary School as well as TAM Hei-Tung from SKH HKUGA College who demonstrated outstanding problem-solving abilities when approaching complex mathematical challenges.
