The Sydney Prize honours student academic excellence by awarding it annually. This prize honours those students who achieve remarkable academic results across particular units or programs of study, without an application process; such awards usually being handed out based on midyear and final-year performance data; literary prizes do require one.
This year’s prize went to Two New Years by Richard Ho and Lynn Scurfield. This tale follows the story of a Chinese Jewish family celebrating both Rosh Hashanah in autumn and Lunar New Year early spring – featuring warm illustrations that convey both traditions through paper cutting.
Dinosaur Designs created our mesmeric swirl awards for all award winners at the Sydney Film Festival, designed and made in house by Louise Olsen and Stephen Ormandy of Dinosaur Designs.
