Undertaking longitudinal gambling research poses many difficulties, including funding issues and maintaining sample continuity over a long period of time. Repeated tests could have the potential to alter gambling behavior; nonetheless, longitudinal studies are becoming more frequent in gambling literature and can provide policymakers with an accurate picture of gambling’s impacts on society and help make sound decisions about gambling policy.
