Ideal studies should focus on long-term studies with gamblers and their significant others to fully assess the social and health ramifications of gambling. Undertaking longitudinal gambling research poses many difficulties, including funding issues and maintaining sample continuity over a long period of time. Repeated tests could have the potential to alter gambling behavior; nonetheless, longitudinal studies are becoming more frequent in gambling literature and can provide policymakers with an accurate picture of gambling’s impacts on society and help make sound decisions about gambling policy.
